Albina Galina
As a certified teacher of English with more than 25 years of teaching experience behind (including teaching classes of Grammar and Home reading in Kazan State University, Kazan Pedagogical Institute, classes of Multicultural studies in Tech University in the USA, classes of English Literature, courses for the Gifted students in gymnasia №122). I am truly blessed and honored to be involved into the process of the development of the true individuals and the most rewarding journey a teacher can embark. My first teachers of English at Kazan School №39 I graduated from developed my interest in English and Theatre society where I performed in the plays by B. Show, W. Shakespeare and many other distinguished playwrights. My instructors and professors at Kazan State Pedagogical Institute contributed to my desire to pursue a career in teaching History, Social Studies and English. My personal experience of a mother of two children (my son after graduating from Yale Residency in the USA works as a practicing physician in Florida and my daughter after graduating from Catholic University in Belgium works as a researcher in political science in Canada) serves as the most valuable background of my professional life. I’m happy for seeing the fall of the iron curtain separating Russia from the outside world that has provided contemporary teachers with an opportunity to use textbooks published in Cambridge and Oxford and to organize educational trips to Great Britain and the USA. I’m proud to have become a prize winner and participant in several international projects (from Fulbright in 1995, Sister Cities Program between Kazan and Bryan College Station in Texas in 2000, Discover Montana and Tatarstan in 2002-2004 together with Yarulina L.A. up to the Theatre Festival for Youth in Italy and the Czech Republic in 2010 together with Makarova E.V.). I enjoy seeing the best of my students not only as prize winners in city, republican and international contests and competitions but as students in Finland, Italy, Great Britain and the USA. I’m pleased to be recognized as an educator on the official level for becoming an honorable citizen of Kazan and an honorable teacher of the Russian Federation.
