Preparing volunteers to the Universiade 2013
Preparing volunteers to the Universiade 2013 is the main project that started its way in 2009. This work had several different objectives. The first objective was challenging the volunteers from different schools of our district. The second one was forming group out of them. I can point out that most of them came out from our school, because they have shown the best results in speaking foreign languages. In 2009-2010 our school prepared 2 groups of volunteers. Twice a week they had an opportunity to practise speaking with foreigners. They have learned a lot of phrases (speech cliches) which are useful in every day life. They are taught by the experienced teachers who have been talking English for all their lives. This school year 2010-2011 our volunteers preparing center has opened again. This time there’re 7 groups of volunteers. The students of 7th, 8th, 9th grades have lessons. The interesting point of these groups is that 2 of them are formed with the pupils of Moscow district schools. The teachers of the English are using foreign workbooks, so the volunteers could learn modern English language.
